The heat is here and summer is in full swing! Planning out what activities to keep you and the family busy to take full advantage of this season? Well, we have some ideas to have a beautiful summer right here in Garner.

- Head over to Garner Swim and Recreation Club this summer! Practice your cannon ball, sign up for swim lessons, or sun bathe at this community staple. Get tickets to their Annual Music Festival, too!
- A new tea shop, Steep Right Up, is open and serves up small batch tea. Stay cool and order an iced tea from her specialty blends!
- Fruit picking is a summer "must-do" and you MUST pick blueberries from Mini Acres Farm. They have multiple varieties of blueberries to choose from. If you're making cobbler, muffins, ice cream, or just eating them, this is a summer activity you can't miss!
- Grab some lawn chairs for this free family activity, Friday Family Flicks. Watch popular family-friendly movies on an outdoor screen on the lawn of the Garner Recreation Center. Concessions are also available to purchase!
- Head over the Lake Benson Boat House throughout the season to rent a kayak or a Jon boat. Garner has some wonderful wildlife that enjoys the lake during the summer!
- The Garner Performing Arts Center has a great lineup of performances throughout the season. Catch a show during the summer in this historical building that host musicals to live music!
- If you haven't been to Sodabox, you're missing out! Beat the heat this summer and grab a mix and match soda or a special Sodabox creation to keep the summer vibes rolling with the whole family.
- The quintessential Garner summer can't be complete without attending the Annual Independence Day Celebration. People flock across the triangle to eat with the amazing food vendors, listen to the NC Symphony, and watch a spectacular fireworks show. Grab your picnic blanket and your best red, white, and blue attire. We'll see you on the lawn at Lake Benson!
- Shop at a local, small business - Check out our Business Directory to find the right small business for you. Supporting local, small business is supporting a fellow citizen of this amazing town! We have members that sell desserts to retail and B&Bs to IT. There's someone here for you to support this season!
- Downtown Garner is coming to life with places to visit and things to see. This summer, enjoy the Summer Food Truck Rodeo on July 19 or Go to Market on Main on August 16 to eat amazing local foods and meet artisans in the area.
